A while ago I downloaded an app called Virtual Villagers Origins two.
This game is created by ‘Last day of work’ (LLC).

This is a company who creates several types of games like:

– Virtual Villagers Series (Origins, A New Home, New Believers, Lost Children, Secret City and The Tree of Life)
– Virtual Families 2 Series
– Virtual Town
– Fish Tycoon Series
– Plant Tycoon
– San Francisco Zoo

All the games have the same theme: Survival. Since I played this game for a while, I thought it would be fun to make a review about it!

Graphics

I really need to say that I like the graphics. I have never seen such graphics before, except for the LLC games, which is really good, because that makes them unique. You can zoom without having a bad quality of the pictures. The pictures are in bright colors which fit in a theme of nature colors. The pictures are really detailed, which really enlarges the experience of being a part of the island Isola. Also how the villagers walk and look like has really made a great impression: they all seem to be a 3D person.

Sometimes it can be a little bit hard to tell if a villager is grown up. Then you can go to a detail menu which tells you the in and outs about your villagers.

Also the menus are in the same style as the island is. That really improve the experience of playing the game. This means the graphics will get five diamonds!

Storyline

Then it is time to discuss the storyline. Here follows a short summary of the story:

A few villagers (you can choose any five you like) are lost on an island and need to solve problems or need to discover things. This has one goal: to survive. Every day when you log in, you get a little gift to make life easier on the island. The villagers begin to build a love shack, where they are able to get kids. Every villager has its own personality, so sometimes a villager does not want to have kids and pushes his or her partner away (you can ‘mix’ the villagers), which really is a lot of fun. After you have discovered that, which is the easiest thing to do on the island because it is the intro, YOU have to think about solutions for problems and YOU have to figure out how to survive. I actually do not want to spoil everything, so I will keep my mouth shut! Four diamonds for storyline!

Grammar and spelling

The grammar and spelling are really good. To be honest: I have not seen any mistake at all, which means the developers of the game really take the game and content seriously. It can be really annoying to read a lot of mistakes, so luckily this time I also trusted the grammar. This really makes you flow into the game, without figuring out what it actually had to be. I can go on for hours, but I think this is what you need to know. The grammar and spelling honestly get five diamonds!

Originality

I personally have never seen an app like this before. The game has really good graphics like no other game has. Really in the LLC style. So it is a whole new experience to play this game. Also the idea of switching the seasons and day and night so fast is really nice. A real time game with the right speed. Since the storyline is really original as well, like I said before: there is a real story you have to explore in this game which you can do at your own speed. The game does not force you to make certain decisions and you can make the story turn out the way you like, which means litterally no one will have the exact same villagers and story. This can not be more original than original can be. This means the game will get five diamonds for originality!

Difficulty

Although it could sometimes be really hard to survive on the island, I really have to make some side notes: without logging in for a day or probably a few days, a lot of your villagers are sick, which means there is a bigger chance they can die. Without the villagers you can not play the game. That is not so nice, because if you forget to check the game, you will have a more difficult time to recover your villagers after you have logged in. The puzzles itself are really challenging, which I really like.

The disadvantage is that it can sometimes take a really long time to discover things, what really demotivates you to continue playing the game. Like saving techpoints which you need to buy things.

An adventage is that you do not have to play active with the game, but while the app is closed, the villagers continue their lifes. The difficulty gets three diamonds.

Enjoyability

I really enjoy playing the game and I will definately continue to play the game to discover all the secrets and hidden treasures on the island Isola. During the game I really had some island vibes and I always wanted to continue playing. Also when I had to do something else in the real world, the game would make progress, and I really liked that. When I did not know what to do, I just dragged some villagers over the island and the story continued. I really had a lot of fun playing this game! Five diamonds!

Just as you were able to read: I am really positive about this game. It can sometimes be a little bit difficult, but I think that is also the fun part about the game.
